This October, Celebrity Cruises’ new ship Reflection sets sail for the sun-soaked Caribbean. The modern luxury liner will feature an array of multifunctional spaces designed specifically with groups in mind.
Reflection will feature an entirely new, customizable space that can serve as a spacious ballroom or conference area, or be divided into smaller banquet or classroom settings. The entire area will be equipped with four 70-inch LCD TVs. The expanded 2,800-sf space on deck will accommodate 220 pax, conference style. Each space can be configured courtesy of movable walls allowing for two to three concurrent events.
Ron Gulaskey, Celebrity’s director of corporate incentive and charter sales, tells us how Reflection will be a game changer for nautical meetings and incentives.
Prevue: How was Reflection built with groups in mind?
Ron Gulaskey: Our incentive and meeting business has grown at least 25% for three straight years. What is so unique about our brand is that, like luxury hotel properties, we offer that kind of experience on board of a ship. We do have a dedicated space for conferences onboard all of our ships, but with Reflection we are the only premium brand with this type of flexible facility.
What’s new with F&B onboard Reflection?
Our dining facility is a game changer. We can host luncheons, breakfasts or private dinners. We also have numerous specialty dining options and we offer buyouts with these venues. On the outside top deck on Reflection, we have the Lawn Club Grill, which is a great option for groups.
It is such a camaraderie building experience because at that restaurant you can actually grill your own steak, or make your own pizza or have one of chefs make it for you. Groups also can select from among three of Celebrity’s expertly designed menus, each of which can be complemented by fine wines from more than 500 global selections.
What’s new for onboard entertainment?
We offer such a variety in terms of entertainment. But what is exciting is that whether it is our shows or lounges, there is something for everyone. Meeting planners spend the majority of their time leading up to events at hotels and resorts focused on meal planning and organizing entertainment, but with us, incredible dining experiences and fantastic entertainment are all part of the package.
